Xenotact is a granular XY texture instrument that turns any two audio files into living, breathing soundscapes. Drop in a vocal, a piano note, a field recording or a sheet of metal, and Xenotact tears it into thousands of grains. It rebuilds them as lush pads, frozen drones, alien swarms and slowly evolving atmospheres.

At its core is the HIVE, a large XY touch matrix. Drag the green cursor and you scan through both samples at once: one axis moves through Specimen A, the other through Specimen B. A second cursor shapes the grains themselves, from long and silky to short and glitchy. Every move glides smoothly, so a slow gesture becomes a slowly evolving sound.

No presets to scroll through and no theory required. Just touch the sound.

Features

• Dual-layer granular engine. Two samples play at the same time, blended and scanned from a single XY pad.
• Drag & drop specimens. Drop your own WAV or AIFF files straight onto the interface. The length is detected automatically.
• Waveform screens with START / END markers and a live playhead, so you choose exactly which part of each sound the grains come from.
• FREEZE. Lock any moment into a sustained, frozen tone.
• PARASITE. The instrument plays itself, drifting through positions, grain sizes and scatter.
• XENO. Grains leap by octaves and fifths for strange, alien harmonics.
• RANDOM. One click gives you a brand new texture, always within musical ranges.
• Built-in FX chain. Resonant lowpass filter, delay (ECHO) and a large reverb (VOID).
• 16 sound-shaping controls: density, window shape, drift, pitch, warp, stereo width and more.
• Full DAW automation of every knob, switch, XY axis and marker.
• Fully playable. Up to 8 voices, transposes across the keyboard and holds notes with the sustain pedal.
• A living interface with a resident alien lifeform that never stops moving and gets excited when you play.
